Calling for a comprehensive ban on porn websites
PESHAWAR:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday passed a resolution, calling for a comprehensive ban on porn websites across the country. Pakistan Peoples Party lawmaker Fakhr Azam Wazir moved a resolution, urging the federal government to direct the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) to ban porn websites. The resolution was adopted with a majority vote, but a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Shaukat Yousufzai voted against the resolution when it was put up for voting by Speaker Asad Qaiser. The house passed another resolution asking the federal government to give representation to all languages spoken in the country in census forms. Moved by Muhammad Ali of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), the resolution was adopted unanimously. Another resolution was adopted, which asked the federal government to legislate a law for moon sighting, making it applicable on all parts of the province.
