Did Kangana Ranaut say 'no' to celebrated filmmaker Majid Majidi?

As celebrated Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi readied to helm his upcoming film Beyond the Clouds from January 23, he expected Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut to come on board soon.

Majid had finalised the Queen star for the film's lead role, according to SpotboyE. Word has it that when Kangana and the filmmaker first sat down to discuss the film, Majid knew she was perfect for the role. After a quick narration, the actor was signed and preparations commenced.

Did you know Kangana Ranaut almost signed an adult film?

But, Kangs started having second thoughts about starring in the project after receiving the film's script. The complete document featured two parallel leads: Ishaan Khatter - as her brother - and Kangs herself.

It was then that Kangana realised that the film was not right for her. Her decision hardly comes as a surprise considering that she remains among Bollywood's most sought-after actors, free to pick any heroine-centric role she points her finger at.

I have always operated from the place of my individuality: Kangana Ranaut

Kangana later met Majid to make him cognisant of her decision. The director understood and both parted ways amicably.

Majid is now without a heroine. Who will bag the role in the celebrated filmmaker's film? Only time will tell. As for Ranaut...we've got our fingers crossed for Rangoon.
