Trump orders publication of weekly list of crimes committed by immigrants
Number of illegal immigrants with criminal records in the US is estimated at 820,000
US President Donald Trump has directed his administration to work on a weekly list specifying crimes committed by immigrants in the states.
On his fifth day of presidency, Trump directed the secretary for homeland security to “make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens” in the United States, The Independent reported.

The directives by the US president are: “To better inform the public regarding the public safety threats associated with sanctuary jurisdictions, the Secretary shall utilise the Declined Detainer Outcome Report or its equivalent and, on a weekly basis, make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens and any jurisdiction that ignored or otherwise failed to honor any detainers with respect to such aliens.”
However, the order does not mention if only illegal immigrants’ crimes will be jotted down in the list, raising fears that people living legally in the US will also be named in the list if they commit offences.
