K-P IT board all set to launch ‘Digital Strategy’

The strategy has been focusing on Digital Access, Digital Governance, Digital Economy and Digital Skills

PESHAWAR:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa information technology board is all set to launch the country’s first-ever ‘Digital Strategy for K-P’.

The ‘Digital K-P’ strategy is likely to be launched during the board’s Digital Youth Summit 2017 scheduled to be held in May.

The strategy, according to officials, was being developed with technical assistance from the World Bank and will have far-reaching effects on the province.

It will help create job opportunities, improve government services and build an entrepreneurship ecosystem in K-P which, according to the officials concerned, will anchor the province’s digital transformation.

The strategy has been focusing on Digital Access, Digital Governance, Digital Economy and Digital Skills, says the K-P IT Board’s MD Dr Shahbaz Khan.

“It will help entrepreneurs start new IT business with low cost as compared to other businesses in other sectors,” Khan told The Express Tribune, adding in order to compete with a fast-growing IT world, digital skills will be focusing on reducing skill gaps and keeping graduates up to date.
