IBA bags US 2017 Outstanding Specialty Entrepreneurship Program award

IBA is the first university outside US to win the prestigious USASBE honour

The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi’s Womenx Entrepreneurship Program was awarded the title of the 2017 Outstanding Specialty Entrepreneurship Program by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) on Saturday.

USASBE has ranked entrepreneurial programmes since 1990 and is internationally recognised as the premier association for entrepreneurship education.

The ceremony was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with Dr Shahid Qureshi, Programme Director AMAN CED receiving the award on behalf of IBA Karachi. IBA Karachi represented Pakistan amongst other universities.




This is the first time in the history of USASBE awards that a university outside the US has won this particular award. Womenx Entrepreneurship Program is an initiative funded by the World Bank.

The other two finalists chosen from the pool were WIN Lab, Babson College and Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University.

The Outstanding Specialty Entrepreneurship Program Award is given to a college or university that has developed and offers a high quality and innovative programme.
