Reforms to be introduced in K-P seminaries
Teaching of English, computer studies and other advanced disciplines will be included in the reforms.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Namroz Khan on Thursday said the government has started working on a plan to introduce reforms at seminaries.
Speaking to Express 24/7, the minister said that representatives of the seminaries would be taken into confidence to bring about the reforms.
He said the plan did not aim to interfere with the affairs of the religious schools adding that the seminaries would themselves arrange teaching of English, computer studies and other advanced disciplines.
Khan said the government would provide financial support to the seminaries to implement these developments.
He added that registration of seminaries will also be made compulsory.
