Over 266,000 Pakistanis deported from 133 countries in three years

Around 266,412 Pakistanis were deported from different countries during the last three years (2014 to 2016), Ministry of Interior's data said.

They were deported from a total of 133 countries majority of which were from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Iran.

A country-wise breakup indicating their deportation on Monday revealed that 78,409 Pakistanis were deported during the year 2014, 116,185 in 2015 and the number of deportees stood at 71,818 during 2016.

Nearly 250,000 Pakistani migrants deported in 3 years

The data issued by Interior Division further showed that 1,920 Pakistanis were deported from Oman through Sea while 48,093 were deported from Iran through land during the last three years.

The number of deportees from Iran through land were 4,956 in 2014, 26,978 in 2015 and 16,159 in 2016.

The data showed that 37 deportees were returned from the European Union (EU) countries who were sent to Pakistan without due process of law that is, verification of their national status, as required under SOPs for deportation from abroad.

Bunny Rabbit | 7 years ago | Reply And why are Pakistanis trying to run away/ migrate to other countries. Are they facing any political / economic problems? Theirs is a stable democratic economy. I can understand Egyptians / Libyans or Syrians running .
