Australia all-rounder Shane Watson does not use the excessive amount of free time the champions have with endless net sessions.
The 29-year-old’s career has been blighted by injuries and he is aware of just how much his body can stand. “I’m very conscious about the amount I’ve to train,” said Watson.
“I do enough to make sure I’m in a decent place going into the game.”
The all-rounder admitted that with Australia’s fast-bowling trio of Shaun Tait, Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson leading the way, his job had become easier.
Morkel eyes comeback
South Africa fast-bowler Morne Morkel said he was confident of returning to his wicket-taking ways after picking up just two wickets from three matches.
“We have important games to come so I know my day will come soon.”
So far, the spinners have played a key role in South Africa’s victories, unlike in the past when they relied more on pace.
Morgan ready for Word Cup challenge
England batsman Eoin Morgan is ready to boost England’s World Cup campaign.
“Being part of it is very exciting,” said Morgan. “I haven’t batted since the injury but I’m not under-cooked or under-prepared.”
The left-hander was named as replacement for Kevin Pietersen, who returned home to undergo hernia surgery. He was in the original 15-man squad, but had to drop out after fracturing his finger.
