MES for decision-making: NAB to systematically monitor implementation

The NAB chief also said that the basic purpose of introducing MES is to monitor the implementation of decisions

National Accountability Bureau Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry chaired a meeting to review progress on NAB’s Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES) at NAB Headquarters.

“Monitoring and evaluation system is very important to monitor the performance in quantitative and qualitative manners in order to have a measurable impact on expected outcomes and to implement them effectively,” the NAB chairman said.

During the meeting, an adviser to the chairman gave a presentation regarding the latest progress on the working of MES at NAB Headquarters and NAB’s Regional Bureaus.

He informed that on the directions of the NAB chairman, an effective monitoring and evaluation system has been developed, catering to the needs of all concerned having salient features of maintenance of data at each stage including complaint entry, complaint verification, inquiry, investigation, prosecution stage and record proceedings of regional board meetings and executive board meetings.


The NAB chairman said that an effective accountability mechanism is quintessential for economic growth, investment and stability of social order.

“NAB’s anti-corruption strategy is yielding positive results due to serious efforts to combat corruption with the realisation that it is our national duty.”

The NAB chief also said that the basic purpose of introducing MES is to monitor the implementation of decisions and the outputs systematically. He said that MES forms the basis for modification of interventions and assessing the quality of activities being conducted.
