Verdict announced: Two sentenced to death in double murder case

In terrorism case, the ATC awarded 35-year jail terms to Tariq and Mohibullah

SARGODHA: A court awarded death sentences to two people for their involvement in a double murder case in Sargodha on Thursday. Additional District and Sessions Judge Israr Zada announced the judgment.

The prosecution told the court accused Aslam along with his four accomplices identified as Irfan, Tanveer, Ramzan and Iqbal murdered two men Kazim Hussain and Sajjad Hussain over a property dispute.

Later, the police arrested the accused and registered a case against them and presented challan in the court for trial.

After hearing the arguments the judge sentenced Muhammad Aslam and Ramzan to death and imposed a fine of Rs0.4 million on them. The compensation amount would be paid to the heirs of the victims.  Meanwhile, the court acquitted two co-accused Tanveer and Iqbal giving them the benefit of doubt and ordered the police to arrest the fifth accused Irfan. The police have sent the culprits to district jail Sargodha.



In another case, the Special Anti Terrorist Court JudgeTariq Mehmood Zargham awarded 35-year imprisonment to two accused for their involvement in terrorist activities.

Prosecution told the court that Mianwali police had arrested two accused Mohibullah and Tariq Saleem from Esa Khel in 2016 and seized two kalashnikoves, ammunition material and hand grenades from their possession.

The accused were members of a banned organisation and a case was registered against them under terrorist act at Mianwali police station. The court also ordered to confiscate property of the accused. The culprits were sent to District Jail, Mianwali.

Earlier on January 10, 2017, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Nadeem Ansari awarded death sentences to three suspects for their involvement in quadruple murder case in the jurisdiction of Hajipura police.

Accused Gul Nawaz alias Jabar, Gul Dias and Muneer aka Shensha had shot at and killed four persons in 2012 at Hajipura Bund over a dispute.

Similarly on December 2, 2016, a court awarded death sentence to an accused for his involvement in a double murder case. The judgment was announced by District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Tariq Javed.

Accused Sahib Khan, a resident of Bowla Village in Joharabad Tehsil, had gunned down his wife and daughter in May 2015 as he doubted their character.
