Another milestone for MS Dhoni
MSD has done on Indian soil what only Tendulkar had managed before him
Indian maestro Mahendra Singh Dhoni has entered that phase of his career where he will constantly break world records or improve the ones he already own.
Today was another such day.
The 35-year-old veteran, who recently relinquished India's limited-over captaincy in favour of his understudy Viral Kohli, has become only the second batsman to score 4,000 ODI runs on Indian soil.
He achieved the feat during India's second ODI against England earlier today and joined an elite club whose only other member is another great — Sachin Tendulkar.
Dhoni has an average of almost 58 runs per innings over 110 ODIs played in India, while his highest score in his own backyard is 183 not out.
At 46.17, Dhoni's batting average while playing overseas dips by more than 10 runs, which shows how much he enjoys entertaining his home fans.
Now no more a captain, Dhoni's sole task is to anchor India's batting line-up under the new leadership of Kohli.
While he failed with the bat in the first ODI against England, he made up for it in the second ODI with a superb century that propelled India to their second consecutive score of over 350.
