The Sindh High Court on Thursday once again directed authorities to remove supermodel Ayyan's name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

Ayyan had filed a petition against Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar for placing her name on ECL in violation of SHC orders. T

his is the third time the SHC has called for lifting a travel ban on the supermodel. Last year in March and June, SHC also issued orders for removing Ayyan's name from the ECL.

On January 9, SHC referee judge, Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto, reserved verdict on a petition filed by model Ayyan seeking removal of her name from the ECL. The SHC chief justice had appointed Justice Phulpoto as a referee judge to decide the matter after a two-judge bench gave a split judgment on December 1, last year.

Ayyan, who is currently out on bail, is facing a trial for trying to smuggle $506,800 after being caught in the act at the Islamabad airport on March 14, 2015.

She had challenged the third memorandum by the interior ministry to place her name on the ECL since her arrest, despite the SHC suspending the ministry’s memorandums twice in this regard.
