Clogged streets: Traffic management project to ease woes around schools
The meeting reviewed traffic situation around schools, colleges and universities during peak hours

A meeting held at the Children Library Complex (CLC) on Saturday decided to introduce a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic around educational institutions in the province.
Jointly chairing a meeting, Minister for Higher Education, Syed Raza Ali Gillani and Minister for School Education, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan revealed that the pilot project would be initiated to ease traffic-clogged streets during peak hours. It would be introduced in Lahore and in other major cities where people face hurdles in vehicular movement around big educational institutions.
The meeting reviewed traffic situation around schools, colleges and universities during peak hours and discussed various proposals to control and improve this situation.
The meeting also decided to conduct a comprehensive survey for measuring the situation and to chalk out a plan to solve the issue.
Chief Traffic Officer Lahore, Captain (retd) Syed Ahmad Mubeen briefed the meeting about different efforts initiated to smoothly run the traffic in the metropolis.
Representatives of traffic, city district government, school education, higher education and other line departments, including famous school-chains, attended the meeting.
