Shehzad dazzles in Islamabad’s victory over Lahore Whites
Pakistan right-hand opener scores unbeaten 163 in 271-run chase
Out-of-contention Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad scored unbeaten 163 to guide Islamabad to nine-wicket victory over Lahore Whites in the One Day Cup for regions on Saturday in Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi.
The right-hand batsman scored 14 boundaries and hit three maximums courtesy 144 balls to guide his team past the 271-run target set by Lahore.
He was assisted by Sarmad Bhatti’s unbeaten 68 off 83 balls.
Earlier, Lahore were sent in to bat first and managed 270-6 in their 50 overs courtesy Usman Sallahuddin’s 90 not-out off 94 balls. Arsal Sheikh took two wickets for 53 runs for Islamabad.

Three other matches were scheduled at different venues on Saturday in the on-going One Day Cup for regions.
At the Diamond Ground, Islamabad, Lahore Blues beat Rawalpindi by 14 runs courtesy the Duckworth-Lewis Method (D/L Method). The match was reduced to 47 overs after Lahore were all out for 259 in 46.1 overs. Rawalpindi could only manage 196-7 in 37 overs under revised conditions.
In another reduced (47) overs match, Karachi Blues beat FATA by 18 runs courtesy once again the D/L method. FATA scored 268-6 in 47 overs and under revised conditions Karachi scored 176-4 in 30 overs to bag a win.
The match between Peshawar and Karachi White was abandoned due to bad light.
