FAISALABAD: Two police constables were shot dead by outlaws in Millat Town police precincts, Faisalabad on Friday.

A police official said two police constables identified as Muhammad Khalid and Naseem Aftab were patrolling the area on a motorbike in Nishatabad when they observed two suspected persons riding a motorcycle. When the policemen signalled them to stop, the outlaws opened fire on them and fled the scene. As a result, both policemen suffered bullet injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. However, they breathed their last on the way to hospital.

The deceased were the residents of Chak No 192 in Rasoolpur. During the shoot-out, a passer-by Ramzan also suffered bullet injury. The injured was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Earlier on October 30, 2016, a police officer was killed in an exchange of fire at Faisalabad’s Canal Road. The gunmen opened fire at the law enforcement personnel when they signalled their car to stop, resulting in the death of 45-year old Constable Mohammad Ashraf.
