Mechanism needed: Homeless children to be registered

ISLAMABAD:
The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Human Rights on Wednesday asked for preparing a concrete and solid mechanism for registration of orphans and homeless children. The mechanism was necessary to ensure their safety and fundamental human rights, as well as to check that they should not fall into hands of terrorists, it observed. The committee recommended that proper legislation should be made for the registration of such children who lost their parents and data should be compiled that who was living with relatives, orphanages, guardians. Kishwar Zehra informed the body that she had already submitted a comprehensive bill on the issue in the National Assembly.
