Sardar Ayub won elections on the ruling party’s ticket from PP-87

A retired colonel joined the Punjab cabinet on Saturday to take over the provincial portfolio of counter terrorism. A notification for Lt Col (retd) Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan’s appointment was issued after Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed the Punjab Assembly lawmaker as a provincial minister. He will take oath of his office on Monday. Sardar Ayub won elections on the ruling party’s ticket from PP-87 (Toba Tek Singh-IV). He was commissioned in Pakistan Army and graduated from Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul in 1980. He obtained the degree of LLB in 2005. Ayub is a practicing lawyer and an agriculturist, who was elected as the provincial assembly member in 2008 general elections. He has been serving as the parliamentary secretary for environment. His father also served as a Punjab Assembly lawmaker for four consecutive terms from 1985 to 1988, 1988 to 1990, 1990 till 1993 and 1993 to 1995.
