Death On Campus: Suspect remanded into police custody
The court granted six-day physical remand of Anis Khaskheli, who was detained from his residence
HYDERABAD:
A suspect, who was arrested in the case of Sindh University student’s death, was produced on Saturday before anti-terrorism court in Hyderabad. The court granted six-day physical remand of Anis Khaskheli, who was detained from his residence on Wednesday, to Jamshoro police. The brother of the deceased student N*, had lodged an FIR at Jamshoro police station on Friday night, nominating an unknown persons who harassed his sister on mobile. The sections 315, 316 and 509 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), 6/7 of Anti -Terrorism Act and 9 and 13 of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act were added in the FIR. If convicted, Khaskheli can be sentenced with life imprisonment under Section 316 of PPC. Hyderabad DIG Khadim Hussain Rind said that Khaskheli was allegedly a criminal who exploited around 30 women.
