Police arrest three wanted suspects

ISLAMABAD: Central Investigation Agency (CIA) Police have arrested three people suspected of several robberies.

“These suspects have confessed to committing numerous crimes,” said a CIA spokesperson on Wednesday. The arrested are Azkar Ahmad from Jagiot area in Islamabad, Mansha from Chishtian district and Mushtaq Ahmad from Pakpattan district. Bashir Ahmad Noon, DSP CIA, led the team that captured the three suspects. “Azkar Ahmad, during initial investigation, revealed that he looted a filling station in Alipur Firash along with his accomplices,” the spokesperson said in his briefing. Azkar has also confessed to committing a number of other robberies.

He confessed to looting a house in Jagiot. He also robbed a general store in Khana Dak area and injured a person who resisted. He confessed to robberies in Koral, Nilore and Shehzad town areas of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). Mansha and Mushtaq, in separate confessions, have also admitted to robbing the house of Advocate Waseem Rasool in Bani Gala area of ICT.

The arrested suspects have named other gang members who they claim helped them during the robberies. “We have dispatched several police teams to find and arrest the remaining gang members,” the spokesperson said.
