Behave yourselves: Wardens told to be polite with motorists
Wardens perform their duty in a hostile environment, so it would be better to be polite
LAHORE:
Traffic wardens should act on the policy of ‘pehlay salam, phir kalam’ (first greet, then talk) while on duty, said CCPO Amin Wains. He was delivering a lecture for wardens organised at the Alhamra Hall on Thursday. Amin said wardens perform their duty in a hostile environment, adding their job is to control traffic and stop people from violations.
He stated their job demands skill in dealing with unfavourable situations. Traffic DIG Ahmad Mobeen said besides maintaining the flow of traffic, their job is to educate commuters about rules.
“We should prove ourselves a civilised nation by following traffic laws,” he said, adding wardens should behave with politely with citizens. Furthermore, he appealed to motorists to follow lanes, traffic signals, avoid use of mobile phones when driving and wear helmets on motorcycles.
