Aamir Khan's Dangal  is on course to shatter box-office records.

'Dangal' wins gold at the box office

According to the The Indian Express, Dangal has trumped Sultan to emerge as the biggest hit of 2016. The film has grossed over INR5.8 billion compared to Sultan's lifetime earnings of INR5.7 billion.

Aamir's movie still has a week to mint more money before Deepika Padukone's Hollywood debut, xXx: Return of Xander Cage and Aditya and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Ok Jaanu hit cinemas.

'Dangal' fails to topple 'Sultan' opening day collection

After leaving Sultan behind, will Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist break his own records? Dangal still lags behind Aamir's earlier hits Dhoom 3 and PK, which grossed over INR5.85 billion and INR7.9 billion worldwide.

Only time will tell!
