A 5.5-magnitude earthquake jolted India's Ambassa town in the state of Tripura on Tuesday.



Tremors were felt 19 kilometres northeast of Ambassa town at a depth of 36.1 km. There were no immediate reports of casualties.


Following the jolts, residents of the city came out of their houses and buildings in panic.

Tremors felt in Lahore, adjoining areas

In July last year, strong tremors were felt across Lahore and adjoining areas as well as in North India, especially Amritsar. The quake measured 4.4 on the Richter scale with a focal depth of 10 kms.
