SUKKUR: The manager of a hotel, situated near Shalimar at Minara Road within the limits of the C section police station in Sukkur, was injured Monday afternoon by a drunken customer for demanding payment for food.

According to sources, a man identified as Raees Jamali, a resident of Waspur Muhalla, Old Sukkur, went to a hotel situated near Shalimar, ate food and attempted to leave without making payment. The manager of the hotel, Shahrukh Bhutto, stopped him and demanded money for the food. Jamali, who, according to Bhutto was drunk, instead of making the payment, attacked the manager with a knife, injured him and then looted all the money from the counter and fled.

The owner of the hotel, Babar Mumtaz, registered a complaint with the C section police station.

The accused has yet to be arrested. When the C section police station was contacted, an official said that the police had raided the area but the man was not there at his house.
