Police detain two suspected terrorists in Peshawar
SHABQADAR/PESHAWAR/BANNU:
A Levies Force man was killed after a remote-controlled IED exploded at Mamond in the Bajaur Agency, an official of the political administration said on Sunday.
The Levies official, identified as Dilawar Khan, died in the blast at the sentry post at Loy Mamond near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The bomb, planted along the post, was detonated at 12 noon using a remote-controlled device when levies officials, who were on duty with security force at the main post, visited the site. A search operation was later launched by the political administration with the help of security forces, arresting 17 persons under the collective responsibility clause of FCR.
Two terrorists detained
Faqirabad police in Peshawar arrested two terrorists, identified as Hassan Ali of Bajuar and Ajmal of Afghanistan, during a raid in the Qazi Kalay area in the jurisdiction of Hayatabad police station.
DSP Faqirbad Tahir Dawar said that a search operation was conducted and these two terrorists were arrested.
“We also recovered three kilogrammes of high explosives, hand-grenades as well as arms and ammunition from their possession,” he said.
Meanwhile, no loss of life was reported in a blast outside the house of a school teacher named Malik Gohar Ali in the Norar locality here, police said on Sunday.
As a result of the blast, the gate of the house and a portion of an adjacent state-run girls’ school was destroyed.
