President honours army chief, CJCSC with Nishan-e-Imtiaz

Awards conferred to senior military leadership in recognition of their valuable services

ISLAMABAD:
President Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday conferred awards to senior military leadership in recognition of their valuable services, Radio Pakistan reported.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa were awarded with Nishan-e-Imtiaz (military), during a ceremony in Islamabad on Saturday.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, along with federal ministers were present at the ceremony.

Appreciating the military’s sacrifices on Friday, President Mamnoon said that the armed forces had restored peace across the country, adding that the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had also suffered a lot because of extremism and terrorism. He also offered prayers for the departed souls of the Army Public School (APS) who lost their lives in the process.
