Obituary: Veteran journalist Safdar Qureshi laid to rest
Safdar Ali Qureshi laid to rest at I-11 Graveyard after Friday prayers.

Veteran journalist and former Director-General of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Safdar Ali Qureshi, was laid to rest at the I-11 Graveyard after Friday prayers. His funeral procession was taken out from his residence near Abbasi Market in F-8/3 sector.
A large number of journalists, politicians, office-bearers of mediapersons organisations and civil society representatives attended the funeral of Mr Qureshi who died of a cardiac arrest here on Thursday.
Mr Qureshi was former president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) for two terms. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan, Senate Chairman Farooq Naek, Deputy Chairman Jan Mohammed Jamali, National Assembly Speaker Fehmida Mirza and Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Senator Wasim Sajad and Senator Syed Nayyer Bukhari and others condoled the sudden death of Mr Qureshi and described it a great loss to the journalistic profession.
