Cops summoned for raiding judge’s house
He said that when he asked about any judicial order, the police team claimed they did not need any orders

The Lahore High Court has summoned the Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police officers on January 2 for conducting a raid at the residence of a civil judge, Zulfiqar Ali Mazari.
Justice Syed Mazahir Akbar Naqvi took action on Thursday on the complaint of the civil judge, who alleged the SHO and sub-inspector raided his residence without warrants.
He said that when he asked about any judicial order, the police team claimed they did not need any orders.

He alleged the police misbehaved with the family and ransacked his house. There was no legal justification for the police action as none of his family members were wanted in any case, he said, claiming a raid without warrants at the residence of a judicial officer amounted to contempt of court.
LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah ordered converting the complaint into a writ petition and instructed Justice Mazahir to hold proceedings in the case.
In a separate case, the judge also summoned DPO, DSP and Jalalpur Bhattian SHO while hearing a complaint against police torture on a court bailiff
The complaint was filed by district and session judge Hafizabad. The judge directed the three police officers to appear on January 2, 2017.
