Following orders: Two ‘criminals’ arrested in Sukkur

Suspects held in injured condition after encounters in Kandhra, Sangi

SUKKUR: Two suspected criminals were arrested in an injured condition after two separate encounters near Kandhra and Sangi Tuesday night.

In accordance with the orders issued by the Sukkur police DIG and SSP, the SHOs throughout District Sukkur have launched a search operation against criminals.

According to the police, the Kandhra police SHO, along with a police party were on a routine patrol when they spotted three suspects who opened fire as soon as the police approached them.

After an exchange of fire, the police managed to arrest one of the suspects, Jitendra, and also recovered a pistol and bullets from his possession. However, taking advantage of the dark, his two accomplices managed to escape. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, police arrested another suspect in an encounter near Sunflower Rice Mills on the National Highway within the limits of the Sangi police station. According to the police, three suspects were hiding in the bushes and conspiring to commit a crime but upon seeing the police approaching them, the suspects opened fire, which was returned by the law enforcers.

After a 10 minute exchange of fire, one suspect, Vicky Kumar, was arrested in an injured condition, while his accomplices managed to flee. Police also recovered a pistol and bullets from his possession and registered a case against him.
