LAHORE: A fire broke out at an under-construction outlet of a popular fast food chain in Lahore on Tuesday.

The blaze, which was thought to be triggered by a cylinder blast, also spread to a nearby plastic items shop, damaging all merchandise there.

A number of people were reportedly injured in the incident and were taken to different hospitals in the city. According to Rescue 1122 Emergency Officer Shahid Waheed Qamar, firefighters managed to subdue the blaze in the shortest possible time.

He added that the fire appeared to have been triggered by a cylinder blast at an under-construction McDonald’s outlet, but added that it was premature to say anything.
