ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration on Tuesday sealed a bakery, a few medical stores and a clinic while also arresting five people. ICT Additional Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Abdul Sattar Isani and Secretariat AC Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema sealed United Bakery in F-6 Super Market due to unhygienic conditions. Use of substandard products, poor handling of food items, and low wages were observed during the inspection. Despite two previous warnings, the bakery management had failed to address the shortcomings. Meanwhile, Dr Cheema inspected the Iqbal Town area and fined three bakeries for unhygienic conditions. Likewise, two medical stores – Rehman Medical Store and Farzand Medical Store – were sealed because they were not being operated by registered pharmacists. Tahir Clinic was sealed after it was found that it was being operated by a man pretending to be a qualified doctor. The team also sealed two stores for illegally selling and decanting gas cylinders.
