The talented jewellery designer of Fanas Jewellery opens up her vault for us, sharing her favourite heirlooms and some of her own designs

How/when did you get interested in jewellery?

I have always liked creative things that bring something new to the table. As I grew older I wanted to explore a new skill, and thus came my interest in gemmology. The feeling I had after I designed and handcrafted my very first piece, I knew I was in love. Ever since that, jewellery designing has become my passion.

What are your favourite pieces of jewellery?

My mother’s Rolex is an all-time favourite. Also, any of the rings in my collection that go with my outfit at a particular time, becomes my favourite in that moment.

Where did you get them?

Every piece I have made holds a unique place in my heart. I would even say Fanas is a reflection of myself. All my jewellery goes through an exceptional journey, starting from the inspiration taken from my experiences, days of designing and the hard work of the craftsmen.

Share a story with us about how you acquired one of your favourite pieces:

One of my favourite pieces is a long, traditional necklace, gifted to me by my father. I want to make my mother wear it someday, so that it becomes even more special and valuable.

Is there anything on your radar that you want to get in the future?

Anything and everything related to Fanas! Ever since the venture launched, it has been a constant learning experience. Every day is a new surprise and I’m looking forward to designing new pieces soon.
