Promoting tourism: PTDC mulling television channel
The new scheme was directed at foreign and domestic tourists

The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is planning to launch a television channel to broadcast documentaries on nature, culture, history, archaeology and tourist attractions in Pakistan. PTDC Managing Director Abdul Ghafoor said in a statement on Sunday said that the new scheme was directed at foreign and domestic tourists. In a meeting with Japanese officials, it was offered that PTDC would plan to host Japanese travel writers who would write guide books on Pakistan in Japanese along the patterns of the “Siarnwe Book”, which means a way to walk on earth.“We are also planning to prepare a fresh documentary film, which would be translated in to Japanese language and then broadcast on Japanese travel channels,” he said.
