KARACHI: Renowned religious scholar Allama Talib Jauhari was admitted to Aga Khan University Hospital's (AKUH) emergency ward, and then to its ICU.

The scholar was admitted over complaints of a chest infection and hypoglycemia, while rumours of his death were spread in the city.

Addressing a press conference at AKUH, his son Riaz Jauhari confirmed that Allama Talib is out of danger but said that his doctor has termed his condition 'complicated', as he is suffering from chest infection and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels).

Doctors have advised the scholar to remain at the hospital for four more days to undergo treatment.

Riaz requested people to refrain from believing or spreading rumours and said they should instead pray for the health of his father.
