Brutality: Man kills wife over land dispute
Ghafoor asked his wife that he wanted to take his land back leading to arguments with wife

A man shot dead his wife over a property dispute in Daira Deen Panah on Friday night. Police said Samia Mai, 25, and Abdul Ghafoor, 30, tied the knot about a year ago. Ghafoor presented around 20 marlas of land to his wife as a wedding gift. The woman, who was a resident of Mauza Bait Qaim Wala, was the legal owner of the property as land had been transferred in her name.
A few months ago, Ghafoor asked his wife that he wanted to take his land back, said the police, adding the couple used to fight over the issue every now and then.
On Friday night, Ghafoor, along with his brother Jafar Hussain and two unidentified men, entered his house and shot his wife dead. Later, he informed the Union Council Baitwala chairman that his wife had committed suicide.
Police reached the site and shifted the body to a hospital for an autopsy. According to the post-mortem report, the woman did not commit suicide but she was murdered. Police added an FIR has been registered on the complaint of Muhammad Bakhsh, the father of Samia.
Investigations are underway. No arrests were made till the filing of the report.
