Happy holidays: Designate CJP sends out Xmas greetings

About 80 Christian employees of the LHC participated in the ceremony

LAHORE: Designate Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar attended a special Christmas ceremony at the Lahore High Court and greeted the Christian community on the occasion.

He said all Pakistanis are equal before the law, regardless of their religion. “Everyone has equal fundamental rights.”

LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, other judges of the LHC, emeritus Bishop of Lahore Alexander John Malik and Dean of Lahore Cathederal Shahid P Mehraj were prominent among those in attendance.

About 80 Christian employees of the LHC participated in the ceremony.

CJ Shah said every employee of the LHC was equal to him. He thanked Bhangali Baba, the head of the cleaning staff, for giving him a ring.

The chief justice remarked that he was not even given such a ring on his wedding and the two hugged each other.
