Unanimous: SC press association elects minority member as president

He quipped that Sigamony had gotten an early Christmas gift from his fellow members of the PAS

ISLAMABAD:
The Press Association of Supreme Court of Pakistan (PAS) on Friday unanimously elected Terence Sigamony, as the new chief of PAS.

PAS is an organisation of 39 reporters who cover the Supreme Court for various television channels, newspapers and news agencies. It has its own office inside the Supreme Court building.

The members also elected Rana Masood as general secretary, Allahdad Siddiqui as senior vice-president, Tayyab Baloch as vice-president, and Aamir Khichi as finance secretary, while Salahuddin Khan and Akhtar Siddiqui were elected as Joint secretaries.


Nasir Kazmi, Sabeehul  Hasnain, Daniyal Qureshi, Aleemuddin, and Saifur Rehman were elected as members of the executive committee.

Earlier, outgoing PAS president Hasnaat Malik extended his gratitude to all members for electing Sigamony unopposed as the new president. He quipped that Sigamony had gotten an early Christmas gift from his fellow members of the PAS.
