Behind bars: Man arrested for kidnapping son

KHANEWAL: A man, who kidnapped his own son for ransom in Khanewal, was arrested by police on Thursday. DPO Jahanzeb Nazir said accused Abdul Majeed along with his accomplices abducted Saim Ali, 5, and demanded Rs1.5 million ransom from the victim’s grandfather. The family paid the ransom amount and the kidnappers freed Saim. However, the DPO added during investigation, it transpired that Abdul Majeed had abducted his own son to extort money from his father. Police arrested the man and recovered the money.
