Line of duty: Constable injured in gun attack in Kot Lakhpat

Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects

LAHORE: A police constable was shot and injured in an attack by unidentified suspects in Kot Lakhpat on Tuesday.

Policemen were on routine patrol when they tried to flag down two motorcyclists near Lahore General Hospital but the suspects opened fire on the police and fled the scene.

Constable Qamar Abbas suffered bullet injuries to the legs and was admitted to hospital.

Extra contingents of police were called in at the spot and launched a search operation to find the suspects.

They also collected forensic evidence from the scene and recorded statements of eyewitnesses.

Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects.

DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf appreciated the efforts of the police officials and ordered Model Town SP Ismail Kharak to ensure proper medical care for the injured constable.
