K-P allocates Rs8b for schools’ reconstruction

PESHAWAR:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has spent around Rs8 billion on the reconstruction of schools damaged in earthquakes across the province.
Speaking at the inauguration of one of the schools, Education Minister for Higher and Secondary Education department and Energy Muhammad Atif Khan said the PTI government has committed to resolve all outstanding issues pertaining to education.
He added that basic necessities for the classroom including furniture, electricity remain priority of the incumbent provincial government’s investment plan on schools.
Education for girls was the main component of the ongoing Annual Development Plan for the sector and around 70% share has been granted for the construction of new schools.
Later on Muhammad Atif Khan also paid a visit to a school of the Sikh community and assured them full support of the government.
