According to the information shared by FIA officials, immigration staff at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) arrested Namatullah as he reached Islamabad from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The arrested man was wanted in a case of obtaining a fake national identity card.
Separately, FIA immigration staff arrested Muhammad Riaz on arrival from Dubai. He had been declared a proclaimed offender in a murder case in Gujrat.
The FIA shifted both men to the agency’s anti-human trafficking cell for further legal action before they were handed over to relevant law enforcement agencies.
In another development, law enforcement agencies and jail authorities carried out a search operation in Adiala Jail on Monday night.
According to the jail officials, the operation continued for about six hours and complete search was carried out all barracks and prisoners.
The barracks of former federal minister for religious affairs Hamid Syed Kazmi, Imtiaz Ahmed alias Taji Khokhar, and other high profile prisoners were searched.
During the search, the law enforcers found contraband in many barracks. The contraband items were taken away from the barracks. Adiala Jail Superintendent Saeedullah Gondal sidestepped claims that a wireless internet device was found in the barracks of Taji Khokhar by stating that cell phones and internet devices could not operate in the jail due to signal jammers on the premises.
