PESHAWAR: Mushtaq Ghani, the spokesperson for the CM, rejected allegations on Sunday levelled against Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak by a former PTI MPA Ziaullah Afridi and said that Afridi’s assertions were baseless and the chief minister was seriously considering taking him (Afridi) to court.

A disgruntled Afridi had accused the CM of ‘misuse of authority’, besides alleging that the CM was politically victimizing him by using the Ehtesab Commission. Ziaullah also maintained that the provincial Ehtesab Commission was partial and failed to take action against corrupt elements.

Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, Ghani said that the chief minister was consulting with lawyers to take legal action against Afridi.

Ghani said that Afridi should refer the case to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) instead of holding press conferences and levelling baseless allegations against veteran party leaders. Ghani claimed that Afridi had been expelled from the party, adding that his membership had also been cancelled.

“He must abstain from wearing the party’s caps and avoid carrying party flags.”
