Unprovoked act: Pakistani killed in Iran mortar shelling

Around nine mortar shells were fired without any provocation

QUETTA:
Iranian border security forces lobbed mortar shells at a Pakistani settlement on Sunday, killing one man and injuring another. The deceased was identified as Abdul Khaliq, a resident of the Pakistan-Iran border region of Prom. The incident took place at Nukur in the Prom area close to the Iranian border where the security forces opened indiscriminate mortar shelling on the Pakistani settlement aiming at the locals and border residents. According to district officials, around nine mortar shells were fired without any provocation. The district administration chief Habibur Rehman Kakar immediately contacted his counterpart and lodged a strong protest against the act.
