Public complaints: 31 cops penalised for dereliction of duty

CPO also ordered that promotion of Constable Gul Sher would be delayed for one year as punishment

City Police Officer Israr Ahmed Abbasi on Sunday penalised 31 police officials of Rawalpindi for their negligence and lack of discipline.

At least seven cops were dismissed from service.

A hearing was held by CPO Abbasi on public complaints received against the officers on Sunday. After reviewing the replies filed by the concerned officials over the show causes notices which had been issued to them, he penalised them.

Sub Inspector SI Ghulam Shabir, SI Rafaqat Hussain, Lady Constable Iram, Constable Abdullah, Constable Mashood Hussain, Constable Bilal Saghir, and Constable Qamar Zaman were dismissed from service, read a statement from CPO’s spokesperson.




Furthermore, the CPO Abbasi penalized reduced the years of service of nine officers. Three years were removed from Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Azhar Mahmood’s service, while two years were taken off ASI Azhar’s service, two years of Constable Abid Ghani, two years of Constable Babar Raza, two years of Constable Muhammad Farooq, two years of Constable Muhammad Noman, two years of Constable Muhammad Ayaz, one year of Constable Imran Hussain and three months off ASI Shahid Masood’s service.

Meanwhile, the CPO also ordered that promotion of Constable Gul Sher would be delayed for one year as punishment.

The CPO also cut salaries of 15 cops.
