Army chief reiterates commitment to protect Holy Mosques, Saudi territory

Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to protect Holy Mosques and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia (KSA).
Gen Qamar, who arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, is on a maiden, three-day official visit to the Muslim country as the chief of army staff.
According to the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief met on Sunday Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, who acknowledged that the two countries play an important role in regional stability “with significant responsibility towards the entire Muslim ummah”.
The army chief and the Saudi king emphasised on continuing working together for the elimination of terrorism, and reinforcing a mechanism to defeat extremism.
Gen Qamar also met Chief of General Staff of Saudi Forces Abdul Rehman bin Saleh Al Bunyan, and agreed upon boosting military cooperation between the armies of the two countries.
Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Muhammad bin Salman also held a meeting with the COAS, reassuring the kingdom’s support to peace and stability in Pakistan.
