Inflation falls in fiscal 2009-10: Shaikh
Hafeez Shaikh says a declining trend in the inflation rate was reported during fiscal 2009-10.

A declining trend in the inflation rate was reported during fiscal 2009-10, according to Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.
In a written reply, Shaikh apprised the National Assembly on Wednesday that inflation was recorded at 11.7 per cent against 20.8 per cent in 2008-09. In 2007-08, the inflation rate was 12 per cent, he added.
The total amount of foreign aid and funds received during July-January of fiscal 2010-11 was $1.036 billion. The aid money included funds for development projects.
In line with the State Bank of Pakistan’s instructions, banks have developed their own loaning products, procedures and criteria, duly approved by their board of directors for lending to the farming community.
