Khangarh police said Jindan Mai, 50, a resident of Chah Tarandowala, reached the Khangarh police station and said that her daughter Sajida Bibi tortured two-year-old Usman to death. The infant was Sajida’s son and Jindan’s grandson.
Unable to bear the loss of her grandchild, Jindan caught a hold of a baton and beat her daughter Sajida Bibi to death, police said.
“I was infuriated after seeing the corpse of my two-year-old grandson and attacked my daughter with a baton,” police quoted her as saying.
Police took both bodies into custody and started an investigation. Muzaffargarh District Police Officer Awais Malik said the matter would be investigated from all angles after an autopsy of the corpses.
He said Jindan Mai and her four sons were arrested, adding more information would be revealed after the initial interrogation process.
