KARACHI:
The ailing Sindh governor Justice (retd) Saeeduz Zaman Siddiqui was discharged on Thursday from hospital after staying there for more than 30 days because of multiple health complications.
Siddiqui later moved to his official (governor’s house) residence and continued to rest on the first day after assuming office.

The governor was earlier admitted to a private hospital on the third day after the oath-taking ceremony on November 11.
He was suffering breathing difficulties and chest infection where doctors admitted him for observation. Siddiqui was sworn in after Dr Eshratul Ebad was removed by the federal government.
In a statement issued by the Governor house, Siddiqui thanked everyone for praying for his recovery and those who visited him at the hospital.
According to the spokesperson of the Governor’s House, Siddiqui is expected to resume his official duties from Friday. He remarked that meetings will also be scheduled once he assumes office.
The 79-year-old governor also expressed his resolve to work for the betterment of the people of the province.
After the adoption of the 18th Amendment, the post is considered a ceremonial one, but his assent is crucial for passing legislations.
Three days on: Sindh governor still in hospital
There are a number of Sindh Assembly bills which are pending for the governor’s assent. Prominent among such bills are: the forced conversion bill and the law on minority rights commission.
Appointments of vice-chancellors of several universities are also pending.
