Engineer remains unhurt in the explosion

SUKKUR:
A Chinese engineers’ delegation narrowly escaped a bomb blast near the Rohri bypass on Rohri-Arore road on Wednesday.

The low-intensity bomb exploded when the Chinese delegation, escorted by Rangers officials, had passed through the spot. However, the windscreen of a truck parked nearby was broken, with its driver receiving minor injuries.

SSP Sukkur Amjad Ahmed Shaikh quoting BDS officials said the low intensity bomb weighing 500gms, planted under the seat of a bicycle, was triggered through a remote control.

Sukkur police launched a search operation soon after the incident, arresting at least 20 suspects.
