Pokémon Go mania had quickly swept the world as players armed with smartphones hunt streets, parks, rivers and elsewhere to capture monsters and gather supplies in the hit game. Pakistanis initially got their hands on the game using an unofficial route to download it.

However, starting today people in South Asia would no longer need to rely on that. Niantic has officially launched PokémonGo on Tuesday in South Asia.

Does Pokemon get you on the Go? For a bit, says study

“We’re excited to announce that you can now download and play Pokémon GO officially from the App Store and Google Play. As of today, Trainers living in India and other South Asian countries including Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh can download Pokémon GO and explore their neighbourhoods in search of Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and many other Pokémon”, according to a blogpost.

Pokémon's initial boom has slowly been declining but this move may reignite the interest given to the game.
