Police constable shot dead

Two residents of Islamabad allegedly shot dead a police constable in Golra, claim city police claimed.

Two residents of Mehre Jaffar neighbourhood allegedly shot dead a police constable in Golra, the city police claimed. Constable Muhammad Gulzar, belt number 6653, had gone to call Asim and his brother, Israr, to Golra police station.

Police said they had had received a complaint against the two for beating and injuring a group of people belonging to the same area.


Despite repeated calls, they had not turned up after which the constable was sent to bring them to the police station. “However, when he insisted for them to come with him, they opened fire on him, killing him on spot,” said a police official. Gulzar was shot in the head. Police said they were looking for the two suspects.

Gulzar belonged to Sargodha district and was transferred to Golra police station 10 days ago.
